Sept. 25, 2020 By Christian Murray

Next June there will be hundreds of candidates across the city vying for the 51 council seats on offer.

In Queens, there are 15 council seats up for grabs–with only four incumbents eligible to run again due to term limits.

We plan to speak to as many candidates running for office in Queens as possible from now through to the primaries.

Today, we speak to Astoria resident and Community Board 1 member Evie Hantzopoulos. She is running for the 22nd District Council seat currently held by Costa Constantinides, who is term limited.

The 22nd district covers Astoria as well as sections of East Elmhurst, Woodside and Jackson Heights. Many people have put their name forward for the race including Leonardo Bullaro, Tiffany Cabán and Felicia Kalan. Kalan is running as a Republican.
